Google Fiber Details

Hi All Homeowners,

I have received an overwhelming response to having Google Fiber installed in our community.  This will give all of our homeowners the option to choose the provider of their choice.

I have been researching the pros and cons of Google Fiber vs. Comcast.  Below is an explanation of your options.  At this point in time as a community it does not appear we can exclusively go with Google Fiber and each home will have to purchase either Comcast or Google Fiber for their internet provider.  Many in our community are on contracts with Comcast at this time and would not be able to change.

Option 1 – Stay with Comcast for your TV and Internet.  This allows you to still download Apps and watch your favorite shows (Apple TV, Netflix, Hulu, etc.)

Option 2 – Switch your Internet to Google Fiber and keep your Comcast TV.  If you do this you will not be able to download Apps unless you have a Smart TV.  This is because you access the apps through the Comcast TV DVR.

Option 3 – Switch your Internet to Google Fiber and only watch Apps on your TV.  You could also purchase any of these providers for your TV enjoyment.  There are multiple streaming services that will give you all the channels you currently have and more such as: FuboTV, YouTube TV, Hulu TV, Sling TV.  You may have to make an additional purchase to get something like an apple TV or Roku TV as these devices work best with streaming services. However most smart tv’s have Netflix and Hulu apps already installed.

We will keep you posted on when this will be available.
